Østermarie Braided Chain Sterling Silver and Fine Silver

The chain is a replica of the part of the historical find from Smedegård, Østermarie in Bornholm. The hoard was found in 2012 on the field in Østermarie on the Danish island of Bornholm. The chain with those beautiful ends was a part of the hoard, one of the youngest treasures of the Viking Age.

The chain was made by traditional technique and is hand-made using Pure Silver 999 wire diameter of 1mm. It was a very popular design in the Viking Age.

The Chain ends are made of Sterling Silver.

The total length of the necklace is 65cm

Due to the handmade nature of the product, the actual piece may be slightly different from the item in the picture. Each piece of jewellery from the Nord Emporium workshop is handmade by myself. You can order personalization as hand-engraving of your personal rune or initials. Engraving is an option for jewellery that has enough space.
