Viking Bullion Arm Ring Sterling Silver L Size
The silver arm ring with indented decoration. The external face is decorated all over with broad transverse shallow ridges. This arm ring was often cut up as hack silver to form part of an active bullion economy. These arm rings are parts of many hoards in the Viking Age.
Money bracelets were frequently used for making payments. A piece with the value of the transaction was chipped off. The silver was weighted and next used for completing the transaction.
